It's quite amazing that we try to hide something we have in common with the world: our burden, wounds, suffering, and weaknesses. We seem to think we're always alone.
For some reason, there is a part of our system that hates to share it with everyone because we don't like feeling like a burden to them. We don't realize that there's a difference between being a pain, and simply sharing them. Does that make sense? We need to be aware of how everyone is, and be considerate too of all situations. You can tell the whole world of your sufferings, but when it comes down to it, it's you carrying your cross, with God by your side.
With that is where I really want to emphasize the importance of knowing how to be alone with God. 'Alone' has such a negative ring to it because what we know as alone is not having anyone for us there. When I say alone, is to simply be with God alone. The two of you. We don't realize that that having that kind of relationship should be our main concern; if we can't be alone with God, we can never be alone with anybody. We might be able to, but we'll never make it to forever the right way. That goes for every relationship - with friends, significant other...
When you have a living relationship with Christ, you'll know how to be Christ in your next relationships. Christ is merciful, constant, understanding and loving. Sometimes, we feel as if just because we love someone they have to be physically present in our lives. We, as human beings, come with change. People will be one things in our lives, and the next, they play a different role in it. The way we accept the changes will determine our relationships will grow. The hardest part is letting it be. Love. When we hold onto people and don't let them grow, we are loving ourselves. We are loving the security that person gives us, let's learn to let go. Relationships are also a part of this world because God is all we'll ever need.
Love God. Leave everything behind here. Relationships, insecurities, hurts, people, memories are the towels, pillows, and holy bibles in the hotels we're just so tempted to take with us home. When we go Home, all we'll need is our conviction in Christ- that He'll be there welcoming us.
Being alone with Christ, you'll realize will really not be just you and Christ, it will be you, Christ, and everyone else alone with Christ. It's the most beautiful chain of hearts you'll witness.
